Brake Caliper Adapter for Converting the Rear Axle of the Golf 5/6 and Audi A3 Series with Steel Axle to Porsche Panamera Brake Calipers. This setup is installed in combination with the Audi S6/S7/S8 brake discs (356×22 mm). The Porsche calipers are connected to the vehicle’s hydraulic system, enabling them to deliver exceptional braking force. However, since these calipers do not have a handbrake function, the rear Golf 5 R caliper is used as a handbrake adapter. The hydraulic connection is sealed with a plug, so it serves only as a handbrake caliper.
Adapters are compatible with the following VW and Seat models with steel axles (front- and all-wheel drive):
- VW Golf 5
- VW Golf 5 R
- VW Golf 6
- VW Golf 6 R
- Caddy 3
- Touran
- Audi A3 8P
- Audi S3 8P
- Seat Leon Cupra
- Seat Altea
- Skoda VRS
Compatible with all vehicles listed that are equipped with steel axle knuckles (not compatible with vehicles with aluminum axle knuckles).
Advantages of this brake system:
- Superior deceleration performance, incomparable to standard rear brake discs
- Essential for power upgrades
- Material certificate included
Required components:
- Rear brake calipers from the Porsche Panamera originally equipped with 330×28 mm brake discs (Porsche Panamera 3.0 to 4.8 S and 4S up to 400 hp) Part Numbers: 970.352.425 / 970.352.426
- The 350mm brake calipers are not compatible (brake pads would extend beyond the disc).
- Rear brake calipers with handbrake carrier from the Golf 5 R
- Original Audi S6/S7/S8 brake disc 356×22 mm Part Number: 4H0615601
- Drilled wave brake disc from the Audi RS7 356×22 mm Part Number: 4G8.615.601
Tips, Information, and Notes:
- For better brake system ventilation, we recommend removing the anchor plates/brake dust shields.
- For easier wheel installation, we recommend purchasing two of our wheel mounting aids >> Click here for the article <<
- We cannot provide a universal answer regarding which wheel size can be used after your brake conversion, as there are too many different wheels. In rare cases, the wheel may slightly contact the caliper, in which case spacers can be used >> Click here for spacers as desired <<
- Install the adapter with the required components, then check if new brake lines may be needed, as the original lines may be too short or incompatible depending on the model. Due to the significantly improved efficiency, we recommend switching to steel braided brake lines. We have developed a steel braided line configurator specifically for this purpose, where you can customize the lines according to your preferences and install them afterward. >> Steel braided brake line configurator <<
- The handbrake cable must always be used with the installed caliper. This means that the new handbrake cable may need slight adjustments. For conversions where the original caliper and handbrake cable can be reused, the cable may need to be routed more directly to accommodate the larger disc diameter and longer travel.
Technical data:
- Installation location: rear
- Axle knuckle bolt spacing: 90 mm
- Brake caliper bolt spacing: 130 mm
