Brake caliper adapter to convert the rear axle (aluminum) from all 4WD Golf MK4 Bora Vento Audi A3 to R8 RS7 S7 S8 brake system, ceramic. The conversion is combined with the 370×30 mm ceramic brake discs of Audi R8, front.
The calipers are connected to the hydraulics of the vehicle and can thus develop an enormous braking force. However, these do not have handbrake functions. The rear floated caliper of Audi R8 is additionally used as handbrake caliper adapter. The hydraulic connection is thereby closed with a blind plug / closure cap, thus this serves only as a hand brake caliper.
Suitable for the following VW and Seat models (4WD) with aluminum axle stub:
- Audi A3 8P
- Seat Leon
- VW Golf MK5 R32
- VW Bora/Jetta MK5
- Golf MK6
Advantages of this brake system:
- top deceleration, without comparison with conventional brake discs
- better performance
- supplied material certificate
Required components:
- brake caliper: Audi RS7Â S7 S8
- rear floated caliper of Audi R8
- brake disc:Â Â Audi RS7, S7 , S8 Â Â 370x30mm ceramic
Notes/tips:
For a better ventilation of the brake system, we recommend removing the dust cover plates and brake anchor plate.
For brake conversion on the rear axle, we recommend that you generally proceed as follows:
- install the adapter with the necessary components and then check if new brake lines are required. Because, depending on the vehicle, the lines may be too short or the line tips may not be suitable. We advise you to change to steel braided brake line because of the quality and technical advantage. Specifically for this, we have developed an online brake line configurator, where you can assemble the type of steel braided brake lines you want. Click here to go to the configurator >> Configure steel flex brake line <<
- always use the hand brake cable of the installed brake caliper. So sometimes you have to modify / adapt the new handbrake cable. For conversions, where the original caliper is used and the handbrake cable can be used, you may need to pull the cable without any other fittings (ie directly) to compensate for the long distance due to the large diameter of the large brake discs.
Tips, information and hints:
- For better ventilation of the brake system, we recommend removing the dust cover plates and brake anchor plates.
- We can not answer generally, which rim size you can mount after your brake conversion. There are simply too many different rims.
- In rare cases it is possible that the rims touch minimal the brake caliper, then you can simply use spacers. >> Now directly to spacers <<
