Brake caliper adapter, front axle, on series Audi A4 B5, for conversion to the ZR18 brake calipers from Porsche Cayenne, combined with the 350×32 Mercedes brake discs.

The adapters fit the following vehicles with a wheel bearing diameter of 75mm (OE number: 8D0 407 257 AC / 8D0 407 257 AL):

Depending on the batch and manufacturer, there are slight differences in the axle geometry.

It is therefore necessary to test whether the brake disk is in clean contact with the axle and can move freely. If the brake disk cannot be turned or is in contact with the axle, the axle must be lightly machined at the points where the brake disk is in contact (see pictures). On the last 3 pictures you can see where there are differences on the axles. We have marked the points in red. If the brake disk is in contact with these points, the easiest way to remove some material is to use an angle grinder. As a rule, it is only 1-3 mm.

In most cases, however, the adapter fits without machining the axle.

  • brake caliper: Porsche Cayenne oder VW Tuareg ( 18 inch version ), reference 95535142153 / 95535142253
  • brake disc: Mercedes CLA 43 AMG 350x32mm, reference: A1764210212
  • Hub bore must be turned to 68mm.
  • Axle with 75mm wheel bearing diameter, OE: 8D0407257AC / AL

Tips, information and notes:

  • For better ventilation of the brake system, we recommend removing the anchor plates/brake dust plates.
  • Install the adapter with the required components and then check whether new brake lines are required, as the old ones may not be long enough or the connection may not fit, depending on the model. Due to the significantly better efficiency, we recommend switching to steel braided lines.
